Summary

AI Safety Events is a solution to the following problem, through being an organization dedicated to event operations for the field.

Problem: The research fields of AI safety are up-and-coming. There is insufficient dedicated support for research, such as service providers for event operations. Organizations and researchers desiring events (workshops, socials, retreats, etc) face an operational burden.

By way of the activities listed below, we expect an improvement in the fields of AI safety in terms of opportunities, social networking, and professionalism, as well as for more events and operations capability.

Activities of the organization:

• Organize events, such as side events at academic AI conferences
• Provide event operations servicesfor individuals, groups, orgs, etc
• Maintain an up-to-date list of upcoming events related to AI risk
• Maintain a Youtube channel of talk recordings
• Skill-up folks in event operations
• Maintain a knowledge base of event operations that is field-specific

Project goals

The goal is building the fields of AI safety through realizing high quality events.
