Epistea is an umbrella organization for projects focused on existential security and epistemics, based in Prague. We both run our own projects and provide infrastructure, know-how, staff, operations, or fiscal sponsorship.

FixedPoint House

Community and coworing space in Prague for projects and people working on important ideas related to long-term survival and flourishing of humanity and epistemics.

Prague Fall Season 2023

Series of events and a residency program in Prague. After a successful pilot in 2022 we are currently working on the second iteration for 2023.

Alignment of Complex Systems Research Group (ACS)

Alignment research group based at Charles University, Prague. Focusing on conceptual work on agency and the intersection of complex systems and AI alignment.

Principles of Intelligent Behavior in Biological and Social Systems (PIBBSS)

PIBBSS is facilitating research studying parallels between intelligent behavior in natural and artificial systems, and to leverage these insights towards the goal of building safe and aligned AI. Between June and August 2023, it will be running the second year of its Fellowship.

Human-aligned AI Summer School

HAAISS is an academic summer school focusing on the alignment of AI. Until 2022 year, it was supported by EA Czechia. Its 4th year is in preparation.
